• Slides of descending octaves may be started by singing with a pitch that is comfortable for you.

With the good use of a buzz, called lip roll or bubble lips, slide one octave below from the beginning pitch with half steps downward.

• The fifth slide exercise is done by using the syllable ‘vaw’ or what is also known as a buzz.

Begin with an easy pitch then descend a fifth then add the third tone to backup the starting pitch.

High range voice training tips are helpful for the tenors and sopranos.

Likewise, for basses and altos who need to work out the higher range of their voice, these exercises may also be for them.

These voice training techniques will work well for those with high pitches or for those who would like to have higher tones.

• Arpeggios up/down are simply up/down broken chords such as do-mi-so-do-so-mi-do.

You can ascend on half step on every subsequent repeat.

• Downward octave and upward arpeggio on a turn is just like a more intricate variety of the last mentioned exercise.

With an upward arpeggio, do the turn and finally sing the 8 tones in a descending manner.

• Upward arpeggio on recurring high notes is a variety of the arpeggio.

Sing ’ha’ on an upward arpeggio then repeat on the high staccato for up to six times.

There are also voice training techniques that would include flexibility exercises.

Use these voice training techniques and you will have a voice that is quite flexible so you can sing just about any song you choose.

• Ascending triplet uses solfege syllables sang rapidly on an 8th note upward triplet. Reverse when at the top with descending triplet.

• Descending and ascending thirds is started at the base note going on a third then descending with a whole step up again on another third until the fifth tone is reached.

• Up-down rapidly repeating five notes is simply going up then down with 5-tone scale.

And then there is breathe control or support. This is how you do this:

• Buzz sliding begins with a central tone in the range then sliding down on a fifth.

This will be repeated for several times using half-step descends.

• Messa-do-voce is sung on a comfortable pitch and sustaining a note.

Starting from the soft then gradually making it loud then reverting again to soft.
